Hearing Aid Cleaning Guide: Fix Muffled Sound and Extend Device Life

Did You Know?

Over 80% of hearing aid sound quality issues are caused by earwax buildup, which can make sounds quieter, muffled, and less clear than when you first started using your device.
The good news? A simple cleaning routine can restore crystal-clear sound and extend your hearing aid’s lifespan by up to two years.

1. Tools You’ll Need

Your Yeasound Care Kit includes:
Cleaning Brush(soft bristles)
Wax Guard (replacement filters)
These come standard with every device. If misplaced, you can purchase a replacement Care Kit [here]

2. How to Clean Key Areas

① Ear Domes

Gently remove the ear domes.
Wipe the surface with an alcohol wipe or rinse in lukewarm water.(Do not use boiling water or harsh detergents.)
Make sure they are completely dry before reattaching.
Recommendation: Replace eartips every 1–2 months for optimal hygiene and comfort.

② Receiver

Use the cleaning brush to gently sweep debris downward, with the sound outlet facing down.
If the sound remains quiet after brushing, replace the Wax Filter.

③ Device Body

Yeasound devices are rated IPX8, so light moisture in the air isn’t a problem.
Gently wipe off dirt using a dry microfiber cloth.
Always keep the device dry before and after use.

3. Recommended Cleaning Frequency

Standard earwax production: Clean 1–2 times per week.
High earwax production: Clean daily and replace eartips more frequently.
